Hey Drone…’Don’t Taz me Bro’

It was 1975 and I was just six years old.  My parents took me to see Jaws on the big screen.  When I left the theater I swore to never step foot in the ocean again.  I knew I would be safe on land and any threat of a water attack could never happen if I avoided the surf.

Well now I realize that my safety on land could be forever changed due to “tazing drones.”

Hackaday has just released a new video showing how a modified AR Parrot can become the new Land Shark.

I have read a few blogs that discuss how law enforcement will abuse the use of drones.  I believe that law enforcement should not be the concern but rouge citizens, armed with a new flying predators will be the biggest land threat in the emerging digital world.  What is your opinion?  I would love to know!

I recently interviewed New York Times Best Selling author Daniel Suarez – who just released his third techno-thriller novel – Kill Decision.  Daniel Suarez talks about autonomous swarming drones and the possible threats that these man-made contraptions bring to the world.  If you want to read a great novel, make sure to pick up a copy of Kill Decision.
