Joseph Rampolla
My passion is to teach about the positive uses of emerging technologies while raising awareness to the potential downside of innovation. I have dedicated my life teaming up with ewarriors around the globe to protect the innocent in this lifelong mission.
“ The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” by William James is my favorite quote.
I have been a law enforcement officer for 18 years for a suburban police department in the NY/NJ Metropolitan area. In 2003 I was assigned to a regional computer crimes task force in Northern New Jersey. I have taught nationally on the topics of cyber crime, augmented reality, virtual worlds, cyber-terrorism, cyber-bullying and undercover Internet Relay Chat (IRC) investigations. I have been fortunate to have taught to International law enforcement at Microsoft in Redmond WA, in the Ontario Canadian Providence, and taught cyber crime topics to all levels of law enforcement for the National Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. In my spare time I enjoy teaching to various diverse communities as an outreach coordinator for homeland security interests. I also serve as a consultant for various organizations across the United States and present for the National District Attorney’s Association (NDAA) and Fox Valley Technical College.
Bobby Simpson
Bobby has been a tech enthusiast since elementary school and an avid fan of all things augmented reality since an epiphany in 2010. He received a Bachelor’s degree in English and Film from Oklahoma State University in 2006 and received a Master’s in Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Bobby worked in the energy industry in his hometown of Oklahoma City until his wife’s completion of dental school in 2011. They then moved to New York City where Bobby began to focus on a new career in the tech industry. One of the first tech events Bobby attended was the Augmented Reality New York meetup. There he met a great group of AR enthusiasts including AR Dirt creator and host, Joseph Rampolla. Already a consumer of over 30 hours of podcasts a week, Bobby lept at the opportunity to work with Joe on the podcast and has been enjoying the ride ever since.
